Snowdon Vegan Weekend

Friday 25th - Sunday 27th July 2014  Pen-y-Pass YHA -Book early, limited tickets.

Saturday 26th July is the Sponsored Walk up Snowdon

Join us for our 2nd Sponsored Walk up Snowdon, this year raising funds for the Vegan Organic Network.

Meet for the walk on Saturday 26th July 10.00am Pen-Y-Pass YHA  for 11.00am start.

The walk finishes at Pen-y-Pass YHA with a hot meal and drinks at the bar!

Last year was a great success; we walked up Snowdon taking in the spectacular scenery making new friends, sharing food and our vision of a cruelty free world. On top of Snowdon we made a big impact with our handmade banners and giving out leaflets and cake, with plenty of time to bask in the sun and take in the views. On the way down we took an alternative route, which lead us back to our campsite, where we made a hot meal and were merry until late in the evening.

This year we are hiring the YHA at Pen-y-Pass, which is situated at the foot of Snowdon, where we will start our walk. People that are not staying at the hostel will be able to have meals with us and enjoy all the entertainment we are providing. Our information and banners will be on show in the YHA’s cafe, which will be open to the public during the day and have an all vegan menu.

My Cupcakes are making free cakes for everyone on Snowdon summit.

Our Snowdon Vegan Weekender promises to be an experience; come along and join in the fun!

Last year we had 70 people on the summit and made a new world record the most people eating vegan cake on a mountain  http://recordsetter.com/world-record/people-eating-vegan-cake-top-mountain/32568#contentsection

Everyone is welcome on our family friendly walk, though you do need to be reasonably fit and know that you can walk the distance, which includes some steep sections, it is after all the biggest mountain in Wales.

Non walkers can catch the Snowdon Mountain Railway train to the summit from Llanberis, tickets should be booked well in advance.

A low level alternative walk is planned if the weather is unsafe.

The weekend  is based at Pen-Y-Pass YHA, which  will be completely vegan. The YHA is booked for two nights - Friday and Saturday, they will provide a meal on Friday night, breakfast Saturday morning, banquet meal Saturday night and breakfast on Sunday. If you want to stay, book early – there are limited places.
